National Congress
The purpose is to give actors a voice, a voice connected
to why they "wanted to be actors" in the first place. Our cultural
climate worships celebrity over artistry, a reality that frustrates
all artists. There are artists who achieve celebrity for legitimate
reasons. The work they do is worthy of special notice. There are
so many others, however, whose very good work is neither recognized
nor rewarded. The issue is the role and purpose of the actor in
modern society. These Congresses were established to explore those
issues.
